Ask for Help (v1) • Re: How to wait long times in loops but still break out when wanted

Hi Mikeyww, wow did you know you're a real godsend to everybody in the AHK community, and have been for years? Thanks so much, man!

That first (of two) examples you gave worked perfectly - all except for getting it to quit. I couldn't figure out any way and had to unload AHK. Is hitting F3 supposed to make it quit? It didn't.

You asked for more details; here you are:

All I am doing is starting the script when I leave the PC for the night. Then I want to break (stop and exit) it when I come back to the PC in the morning. That's it; simple as that. Leave it running overnight and stop it in the morning.

I know the event (interest dividends posting to the account) happens sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. Once I see when it appears, I'll just kill all the screencap files. (Xbox Alt-Win-PrtScr also saves it to disk, so no worries there.) Actually I'll do this a number of times (multiple nights) to see how much variation exists.

You asked about a schedule. In the future, if/when I narrow down to a time, I might only have it on for, e.g., a particular hour I've zeroed in on. But that will be in the future.

Thanks so much for helping everyone! The problem here isn't that there isn't enough information ... it's that there's too much. Googling shows all kinds of weird things people are trying to do. Many situations don't apply to me but it still takes a long time to read through everything they're saying to figure out if it does or not.

So ... Thanks!!! And Happy New Year bro!
